View Full Version : Mag Base Pads for Kimber Compact?

Just dived off the deep end and bought a Kimber Compact Carry.

Cute little Officer's-style .45.

It uses a 7 round magazine that's about a half-inch shorter than a standard GI mag, and has a couple of holes in the base.

(GI mags work if you're careful - or at least mine do.)

I'd like to find some base pads that add some bulk to the base of the magazine, or even provide a bit of a finger grip.

Any suggestions?

Stu,

I've never seen a 1911 basepad which adds some space for the little finger. But that does not mean they do not exist. Someone else please?

John:

My CS45's mags (actually, about the same size as the Kimbers, but not interchangeable) come with a base pad similar to the Walther PPK.

I've since found some "protector" style pads that just make the thing longer and are soft. That might help - I need some other stuff from Brownells, but I'm going to wait a while....
