Howdy yall, Well i am in the market for a carry weapon, and been looking at just about everything. I was at a gun shop the other day and found a RIA 1911 compact. It felt great in my hands, pointed well, and seemed very well built. Well i came back and started my research. I have read a lot of the reviews and most of them were positive. I have found a few negatives. Some of them were some folks who got one of dem lemons that get out of the factory, and most got the problems fixed. Others just seemed like other manufactures because of the name. Anyways I am Rambling. I am a bit disheartend. The gunshop i went to here in Oklahoma City wanted 486 dollars for it. I keep hearing yall talk about getting these below 400 and even some below 300. I am just curious where the heck yall gettin them. Can yall point me into the right direction. If i have too i will bite the bullet, but if i can save the money i can use the saving to get other stuff like holster or a mag or two. Anyways thanks yall.

get on gunbroker, search for bellshireguns as the seller. he's got a few, not tacticals, but GIs with beavertails and hammers upgraded... you can also get them from sarco, but it will take forever and a day, as i ordered mine two weeks ago and they still haven't shipped it.
bellshire does free shipping and it's like 395 out the door, but you have to pay to have your ffl recieve it unless you're really good friends with them or something... sarco starts at like 349.99 and you pay shipping, which is between 25 and 50. you may end up paying a little more for the gun from bellshire, but you'll get it at least a week faster, unless sarco gets majically unbusy.
+1 45 Fox. Bellshire and Sarco are your best bets Wolfepack. Sarco will take awhile but they will come through eventually. Outside of that your only recourse is a local dealer or at a show.

The best price I found on line was Sarco. Bought my RIA MS (compact) at a gun show in Houston for $408. I felt that was comparable considering freight and the FFL charge ($45). The best is I am going to the range this evening, not waiting for a delivery.

yeah, i'd recommend bellshire though... it's been two weeks and nothing from sarco.

$486 is a pretty good deal on a CS Tactical.... out the door...
I paid 450 for mine from Bellshire. + $20 ffl transfer + $25 bg check so thats $495 otd for mine.
I don't know if that's a tactical version (tac has skeleton trigger and novak cut sights)
just my $.02

Do you mean an RIA Tactical? Full size or Compact!! Gun Broker has the RIA full size Tactical for $440.00 and the Compact for $395.00.

Not too bad, if it is approx under $530 out the door, that's a pretty good price for a CS Tac

A Compact Tactical from Bellshire with shipping is 450.
A Standard Compact is 395 with shipping.
They shipped mine day after receipt of payment. Was at my FFL three days
later.
Call them and the man that handles it answers the phone (Phil) is most helpful!
With the tact you get the trigger, hammer, beavertail, checkered grips and sights.
WELL worth the 55 dollars. Well, to me anyway :)

I got my Compact Tactical for $500+ tax and background check in Maryville, TN at Gunny,s. Super nice guys and they were very informative and patient. I looked at several styles and models and never once felt rushed or pushed.

Unless something's changed since last Wednesday/Thursday when I called them, Bellshire only has the regular compact and not the tactical compact in stock.

Well i went back to the shop to look at it once again. I was happy that i mis quoted the price. It is actually going for 435. So after looking around I think that I will pay a few bucks more and walk out the door and not have to wait. I like that instant gratification :) I got permission from by boss to spend 500 :P So with that i should be able to get a mag or two, and maybe a few other extras. I am so excited. I just hope that it still is there when i got the whole monies together.

yeah if it was 435 out the door at a shop near here i'd do it, they want that much for a FS though. that 450 i quoted was before tax, since i'd have to pay it because i'm a sc resident. so i got quoted today by sarco "our guy that does the filling of orders is in kentucky, so you'll get yours shipped whenever he gets back." I asked when he'd get back and they said "hopefully tomorrow."
and when mike told me that I just knew it wouldn't ship tomorrow, but I'll stinkin eat some asparagus on easter if I have my gun by then, cuz I told him to ship it red tag (which i think means saturday delivery?). I'd say I'm pretty safe on not eating that asparagus, which I loathe.

and........ didn't ship today........ he lied to me again.......... gah if he'd just give me the real date he was gonna ship it. i mean what's the worst i could do, cancel the order? which I would have done if I would have known how long it was going to take, because the price is right at the same thing because bellshire doesn't charge to ship.

The local shop here charges 25.00 to transfer a firearm, which is ok, but he wants to charge sales tax on it also.
I don't think that is right to charge sales tax on an out of state sale.
Problem I am not sure who to contact about it.

Asparagus gets a little more palatable with butter and Red Devil sauce......
I used to go through this with the place in PA that I bought T/C Hawken kits from; they had the best price by far, but there was no consistency in their shipping. I tried to order three kits when I needed one, do either I'd get the one I needed, or I'd get all three and have a couple on hand.
I'm not real fond of asparagus either.
