Corrugata and the spalted maple should look really good, how long does it take to get them after ordered? The faster there delivery time is very important to most gun owners, me anyway. Looking forward to the PICS on your 1911.

Zenbiker,
Glad to see that you're enjoying your grips! I just got a new batch of spalted maple wood and would be happy to honor the arrangement you talked to me about earlier. You can take a look at the website for some pictures of the new grips I've made using the new wood. I've also got some really nice box elder burl grips going right now. I'm trying to make a bunch of grips to keep in stock because I've got my first table at a gun show reserved for next month.

Well I really haven't had the chance to really enjoy the grips yet because I haven't yet received the gun! ( full sized Kobra ) They are, however, very well done and I'll peruse the site for the exchange about which we spoke.
I recommend your work highly and you personally. This is an honest man.
Good luck at the show.

Here's some of my newest spalted maple. They're PC-style with a high gloss finish.

they look good
I'm curious how you're stabilizing/hardening the spalt?
are they professionally stabilized or home stabilized with Minwax hardener?
(or other brands of hardener)

I stabilize them myself. I usually don't work with the really dry stuff to begin with though.

I received a set of Esmeralda's Cocobolo grips today. I now have three sets of alternative grips for my EB Kobra. Why? Who knows!
The workmanship is far better than other grips I've bought on line. Cuts are precision done and the bottoms are beveled at the same angle that the stock Ed Brown grips are. They were almost twice the price but worth it.
Cirrus...a set of yours is next.

I'm looking for some Mamoth Tooth grips. Who sells them?

Google mammoth tooth grips and you'll get a number of makers that do. From full 100% mammoth tooth, to mixtures.
Mammoth tooth is pretty fragile when used in pistol grips as a stand alone. If it's a safe queen and not shot, then go for it. If you want to take the weapon out and shoot it with any frequency, you should consider more the inset styles that have the wood, micarta, or other backing on the tooth slabs.
Good luck!

Esmeralda does make some very nice grips, but like you said, it doesn't come cheap.
