Wow...with all the folks here, no one can help with replacing the grips on a 1911A2. Or is it that there are no replacements? Am I beating a dead horse here? :dead_hors

It looks like I'm your Huckleberry;
There ain't no such thing as a 1911A2. If RIA = Rock Island Armory, then any 1911 type grips should fit. :dead_hors
I guess nobody else had time to answer you're inquiry

Oh My I guess I must have an illusion in my hand? The A2 is the RIA HiCap wide body. Regular 1911 grips WILL NOT FIT. There is a small tab on the upper rear of each grip. The grip inside face is not flat like regular 1911 grips are. Where have you been friend. I think perhaps the Para Ord wide body grips may fit.

There ain't no such thing as a 1911A2, if it isn't USGI it's not really a 1911 or 1911A1.
RIA can call it whatever they want, if you had posted that it was a wide body, I would have minded my own business.
Did you do a search for a previous thread?
Did you contact Rock Island?

So now I will answer your question; "I do not know"

I saw your posts over there, and Armscor does call it an A2, which is appropriate I guess, but technically there is no 1911A2.
Could regular 1911 grips be fit? A pain in the neck for sure. But Armscor seems to like the polymer. I saw your picture, and I wouldn't care for those grips either. I had Pachmyrs on my GM for years, and now they are wood.
Somebody makes grips I'm sure but fitting may be required.

Ken,
I'm gonna try a set that I purchased from ebay that are made for the ParOrd wide body. Maybe with a little dremel work I can get them to fit. It seems that with the vast membership of the RIA owners on this forum that someone knows how to get by this problem. If I can get them to work I'll post pics.
Thanks for your input.
Mike

Notice how the tab at the top of the grip protrudes out.

You can see the grip with the tab, also notice that the grip is molded on the underside and not flat.
This is my problem in finding grips.

Both grips have the tab.
