OK here is my question, I have all the parts from a Kimber Compact Custom except the frame. What frame would work with these parts? Would a Caspian commander frame work? What type of fitting would be involved? Thanks, :)

Is it a II, if so the firing pin block will not work. And the post is suspicious as the frame is the legal part of the "gun". So having all the parts except the frame is suspicious of a stolen dumped frame and you have all the unmarked parts so.........what's the deal?

NOT marked II.................Bought from a dealers table at a gun show.(Knoxville TN.)...........He said cracked / ruined frame............All the info he supplied .............as I owned a few Kimber I though I would pick it up as either spare parts or a project gun. I definitely DON"T want anything to do with HOT guns...............................TG

If it's a II the slide will have a plunger at the back next to the disconecctor rail. and it blocks the firing pin until the GS is depressed. Kimber has very good customer service and would replace the frame unless it was obviously abused and then would have offered to replace at a cost. The history of these parts is questionable, to say the least. But now you have them and if you buy a Caspian frame or something else let us know how it goes. Fitting required.

I also think the dealer's statement is questionable & hope you have a receipt for posterity. Also, there are several dealers that list complete used parts kits for handguns, rifles, & shotguns on the several auction Sites. At least one (1) of them sells parts from weapons seized by Law Enforcement agencies. The agencies destroy the frames & the parts are sold.
