Need help Installing This Hammer

Alright I got the existing one out with no problem. Now I need to get that little curved rod off of it and onto the new hammer. It doen't want to budge. Any pointer on how to get that thing off there so I can post pics of my RIA with new grips beavertail and hammer

need to use a brass nail punch or soft metal punch and be careful to tap it out ti will take a little work but it will come out. try tapping it out from left to right
