What is the method you use to measure spring rate of your recoil spring?

Btw, if I change my recoil spring from 14lbs to 15lbs, do I need to change the mainspring or adjust the sear spring?

What is the method you use to measure spring rate of your recoil spring?Whether you want to find the spring's rate or rating, you need a device to simultaneously compress the spring to a known length and measure the force needed to compress it. Most (if not all) of these devices used by forum members are home-made. Several have been shown and a forum search should reveal them to you.Btw, if I change my recoil spring from 14lbs to 15lbs, do I need to change the mainspring or adjust the sear spring? No, no reason to change the others.

Search is easy, here's one from last week.

No, there isn't a pressing reason to change both every time you change one, but you can if you like. Adjust the sear spring? For what purpose would you adjust the sear spring whenever you changed the recoil spring?

No need to change out the main spring, you'll be fine.

No need to do anything to the sear spring.
