Quick Help...About to Order

I'm getting ready to order a wilson dropin beavertail and I need to get a skeleton hammer. Will any hammer work with my RIA GI model?

woohoo, just ordered a drop in beavertail and a skeleton hammer from brownells. hope you were right about any hammer fitting.

Any 1911 hammer will fit your RIA GI Model but the standard spur type, which is on it now will not work with the beavertail unless you "bob" it!!! When you say "skeleton" hammer I am sure that you went with the correct hammer!!! :) :) We will need pictures when it is completed!!! :)

Pics will be taken. As it sits now I have the DHT desert warrior grips and that's it. Hopefully Wednesday I'll put the hammer and BT on. I got a commander style skeleton hammer... Should work fine. I don't like the look of a bobtailed spur hammer.

Did you get a new hammer strut and a new pin also? the old pins are very hard to get out.
