I’ve been mulling over the idea of fitting a 6in barrel to my SA SS Loaded. I think it will increase accuracy (hopefully). The added weight in front should help.
I looked in the Brownell’s catalog and saw that Kart has 6 in. Easy Fit barrels. That’s certainly an option.
Also, Clark Custom has a 5 ½ in barrel with a 3 chamber muzzle brake. That’s also an option I had been considering. Is a muzzle break better than a plain barrel?
I won’t be using this in competition, just at the range.
Are there any other options available or better options? Maybe even cheaper?
Would it be better to have the mfg. install and time the brake as opposed to me getting a gunsmith in my area to do it.
I live in metro New Orleans, which is a gunsmith wasteland. There is only one gunsmith that I know of that MAY do this kind of work (machining) that I would trust, but I would rather have the mfg. do it, if I can be sure it will be done right.
Is there any other info I can give you that would be helpful?
Thanks
Roy
