Hello! Trying to track down solidworks or autocad files of 1911'S. anything you have would be appreciated... I have found a bunch of published e-drawings (a protected solidworks output file) but I need the actual solidworks files so I can apply some equations to it to create scalable models... any tips or leads you might have would be great! I have the great blueprints published here, but really need the solidworks files....

did a quick check but could not find any similar threads... my apologies if I am a repeater!

Thank you so much,

Ewing

Hello,

Can you model them yourself using the prints?

Mostly all solid modeling programs can export a variety of formats.

I can model from prints, but certian elements of the 1911 are very challenging to model and I am just intermediate with solidworks. do you know anyone who has done even partial work on the 1911?

Thank you,

Ewing

This guy has some ".IGS" files, drawings, 3-D animations, etc.available for download of different aspects of the 1911-A1 pistol and/or frame. Just scroll down and choose the type of file you want. Maybe he has what you are looking for.
