I have a Gold Cup Hard Nickel Plated and SS.
The screw bushings for grips seem to be aluminum and are damaged.
Capsiun or what ever have SS bushings.
Does anyone know if these will not work because of dissimilar metals?
1. Which are better ( SS or Colt Aluminum?
2. Whom is a reliable after market Colt parts distributor?
Thanks,
RH

I would be very surprised if the bushings in question were aluminum. Grip screw bushings are very, very thin and thus susceptible to damage.
In any case, grip screw bushings, both genuine Colt and aftermarket, are to be found at Brownells (http://www.brownells.com). Brownells is always my first stop for parts and accessories.
I do not believe that carbon and stainless steel would be a problem for the grip screw bushings. Be certain to stake the bushings in place when installed so that the bushings do not come out of the frame when you remove the grip screws at a future point.

Walt

I want to thank you agian for your sage advice.
I studied the parts list you sent me so at least I can talk about them.
By stake the bushings, do you mean lock-tite or what.
Thanks

There is a special staking tool available. It uses a 1/8" punch and a backing block. The backing block is absolutely necessary. Use the Lock-tite whether you stake the bushing or not.
