So I finally took my new 1911A2 shooting yesterday. Wow that gun is accurate :D. Anyway I started at about ten feet out (They have automated targets and what I presume are feet line markers along the wall) and it shot nice tight groups only about two inches low. I moved to 20 ft then 40 feet. It still seemed like it was low but there was a lot of holes at that point :). I put up a new target at 40 feet and it seemed point of aim - point of impact.
The only problem I encountered was at about 150 rounds ( I shot 300 total) the slide would not go all the way forward. It would close about half way, showing approximately a 1/4 inch of brass between the magazine and the chamber. A simple tap rack bang usually fixed it. Actually just slapping the bottom of the magazine was enough to seat the round. My question is is this common with a new Rock? I put a pretty liberal amount of MILTEC1 lube on the gun before I shot, I don't think I put any in the barrel/chamber.
The only real problem is now I want to go shooting again :( and I don't get paid for a week.
