I'm a little short on cash. I wonder if he'd take 37K.

I've seen those pics before.
Seriously...I don't know why they are ringing a bell for me when I look at them.
It's bugging me now.

The seller says the gun is up for auction again, after a bidder didn't pay; did you see the pics recently on gunbroker?

Oh you are much shorter than 37K right now. I would say about double that, about 70K is what this will catch if it is real and true.

I'll have to buy a 12 pack and dream about.
Rather have an Ithaca though.

The last Singer that sold through our sponsor Rock Island Auction Company, brought $80,500 (I' have heard it was quite "minty" though).

Just looked at the RIA Auction Co. ads in Gun Digest. Singer #2 (?) Must be the same gun different ads.

If I remember correctly Singer was contracted to manufacture artillery sights, and the 1911A1 tooling and fixtures were transfered to the Ithaca Gun Company.

Right, the M5 and M6 Artillery Fire Control Directors, but I believe the pistol production equipment was shipped to Remington-Rand in Syracuse NY.

Yes  , off to Remington Rand for most the Singer tools. The H&R tools were delivered to Ithaca, when the first pistols they made ("at least ten") were rejected, and the contract canceled. (see: Joe Poyer, The Model 1911 and Model 1911A1...)

As soon as I get the stimulus check, I'm putting a bid on this.
