It's a $500 to $700 shooter, Remington-Rands were M1911A1s made during WWII and were not chrome plated.

Welcome to the board.
I don't think that pistol would even be worth $600, let alone $1200.
Remington Rands were originally either Du-Lite blue over a sandblasted surface or Parkerized over a sandblasted surface.
Refinishing a pistol with a proper finish that resembles the original generally cuts the value to about 1/3 the price of an original.
Refinishing with a non-standard type finish cuts the value even more. Do yourself a big favor and don't buy that one unless it's about $350 or less. Stripping off the plating and starting over can be a risky proposition. Often the pistols were buffed to death before plating them. Original markings were often obliterated and removed. That's not the kind of pistol a collector wants to buy, and it's not a good value as a shooter at that kind of price. If you're going to get less, pay less. For a chromed or nickel plated pistol...pay A LOT less.

Since it's not original it's value as anything but a shooter grade 1911 is probably gone.
