Well it looks as though this Colt is a keeper. This morning when I got off work I decided to take this Colt on its first range trip. Well with me anyway. I know there were a couple of people interested in how it handled as well. I put 150 rounds through it this morning and the last 50 rounds went through one of my Baers. The trigger is a bit heavy which is easily remideed. It is measuring 5 lbs instead of the 4-4.5 the gunsites were advertised with. The pictures below are the first string of shots I took with the pistol. I'm definately glad I replaced my SCG with this pistol. Oh and I guess I should add that it ran flawless too which is alway a good thing.

Thanks Creighton. I was nice to do something other than work. I had to just set my mind to the fact I was going to go shoot this today. I was a bit tired having just gotten off of a 12 1/2 hour shift this morning. Oh well, if I'd kept just going home and going to sleep and such...who know when I'd had the chance to shoot it?

Thanks for looking out for me. I bought it from a fellow forum member. There is a Hard Chrome version in the classified section for $1400.00.

Congratulations for your nice Colt. Gunsite pistols are simply the best there is!

My beloved Colt Gunsite can put two inches groups at 25 meters.

That is the reason I am asking for a run of series 70 with the O custom Shop package!

Regards,

PD

By the way, Do you know if Gunsite pistols are still being made in small batches for the Gunsite Academy?

Thank you. A series 70 with model O is very close and is equally nice imo. I do not believe Colt is making anymore Gunsite models. Smith and Wesson now has the contract. They are very nice pistols too.

Dave, thank you for the compliment. I did like shooting the SCG. I guess my comment is somewhat misleading. I just simply do not care for the look of adjustable sights. Fixed sights are plenty good to 25 yards. I prefer the combat style sights. If Colt weren't having so many quality issues at the moment I might consider a SCG carry. However at that price point a Baer is only a couple of hundred away. And you know how I feel about that.
