Does anyone know of a maker of an extended (but not oversize) magazine catch for a Para Ord P18-9. Surely someone other than I (me?) is in need of such a thing. Thanks in advance for any assistance that can be offered. Howard.

Gun Craft is the only aftermarket mag release I know of for Paras. I just ordered the stainless mag release with button. They also make one with out the button but I don't know if it's any longer. Here is a stock # from www.brownells.com -#376-101-102DE =this should bring up all 4 mag releases they make when you enter the stock #.

Thanks for the info. Would it be too much of an imposition to ask you to reply after you get yours and compare it without the button attached to the factory release? Regardless, thanks for the heads up. I'll check brownell's. Howard

Without the button screwed on it's the same length as the factory one.

I have a couple of the steel Para mag catches from Brownells in my parts bin, as a stash for the day the plastic catches in my older double stack bite the dust. I had never paid attention to the length until I saw this thread. I bought the "standard" ones, not the ones that accept an enlarged, screw-on button. The part that protrudes from the frame is slightly longer than the corresponding length on a standard Colt single stack mag catch, and slightly shorter than an "extended" single stack catch. In other words, it seems to be a "tweener." But I didn't have a Para apart to compare the Brownells part against an OEM Para part.
