We have a Gov. Colt 1911 that has this serial number range and is stamped as shown. The finish on the Colt is more of a parkarized finish and is not Blue. The slide number is less than 20 off of what the frame number is. Over all, nice pistol. Should we have it re-blued or leave it? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks......

Since it's not matching, I would consider refinishing it.

Without pictures, it's hard to say. I have seen Argentine issue numbers that closley resemble serial numbers, but really are unrelated to each other. Be careful, it may not be the mis-match you think it is........

Yes, the finish looks like this. The lettering is a little different style. The slide is numbered and is approximately 10 more than the frame.
