Does anyone know where Colt is in the serial numbers for the black Oxide guns? I put one on layaway today that was in the back of the store (not on display) that had a 10XX SN

10XXWWI? I'm no expert, but I'd think that would be in the first 100 made, wouldn't it? Assuming they started with 1000 or 1001, that is. If you know the s/n, call Colt and ask.

I bought one about 8 months or so ago that was in the 16XX range. I have seen some on gunbroker recently that were in the 2XXX range.

Just passed on one at the gunshow here in Greenville, SC it was number 2025. Same dealer had a NIB carbonia blue M1911 number 3798. I bought it instead. He asked the same price for either $999.00 I thought it was a good deal.
