I recently spied what appears to be an 80's Colt Mk Iv Series 80 in a shop here in town. It has an "FG" serial number. It appears to be all stock but has, what i think,Issues.

The entire gun seems "loose" as if every spring is worn. the hammer is very easy to pull back, the trigger easy to squeeze, the slide almost falls back.

But the most distrbing issue is that when the slide is back and stopped, the barrel does a LOT of flopping around almost as if the bushing was wiped out.

Since the shop has this gun priced on the high side(600+$) I'm concerned that this isnt a good deal if I have to send it to a smith and add about 200$ to hav it tuned up.

Any thoughts? Colt owners?

For that kinda money, I would find a better example.

Plus 1 on that thought! The gun sounds like it will need a lot more than $200 to repair.

Best of Luck!

I payed 650 for my 1990 Combat Commander in superb condition. Keep looking, you'll find a better deal.
