Colt Series 70 price in 1978

I have a curiosity.

What was the price of a brand new 1911 Mark IV Series 70 blue finish back in 1978.

Anyone here have an old catalog or knows this info from first hand experience?

I don't know what list price was, but in January 1979 I bought my first 1911, a new Colt Mk IV Series 70 with blued finish and paid $228.50 for it. The local dealer usually gave me a 5% to 10% discount off of MSR.

Thanks a lot for your replies. I wanted to figure what was the original price of a NIB 1978 Colt Mark IV Series 70 Blue Finish I bought last Friday.

You could buy the Government Model for $225 and the Gold Cup for $285 in 1978.
I don't recall the manufacturers suggested list prices.
