Just picked up my new production Colt Officers Model. Haven't done a detailed examination yet...but here are some pictures. Excuse the quality of pictures, even though the camera has a "flower" button, it was made in 1998 with 2.0 megapixal max!!!

Well, lookie there!!! A real-live Colt 09191U. When pics of this gun surfaced on the net a couple of months ago, forum members including myself called Colt to ask about it and were told that "Colt isn't making, and has no current plans to make a new Officers ACP." When asked about the pics floating around the net, I was told that those pics were either of an old model or perhaps from a prototype at a trade show. Whatever you say, Colt!!! Let us know how that beauty shoots!

Oh no, it is not an old model... I have one as well.. Karen from Colt confirmed there were 100 of these made to test the waters.. There are no plans at this time to make any more..

Let's see......old recoil system, old bushing, old reverse plug......pre-enhanced slide on an enhanced frame.......
Very, very nice.......but I have to assume Colt found that some old parts bins weren't empty and figured out they could make 100 units!!
Thankfully they put some decent stocks on it instead of those ugly wraparounds!

While I agree with you Paul. I have to admit it does look nice!

Replaced some of the pics with a few better ones.

I like it. I do wish they had used a traditional, rowel style hammer and the same grip safety they use on the New Agent, but at least they retained the classic, vertical cocking serrations. I think they should put it back into production.
What's wrong with that recoil system? It works -- and it doesn't cost $25 to $30 for a complete assembly like the newer "encapsulated recoil assembly" models use. Thank God Colt remembers, "If it ain't broke ... don't fix it."

Can you remove your bushing without a wrench? Mine wont turn at all by hand.. I am having to disassemble it with the spring and plug in tact and then remove the spring from the back of the slide then the bushing will turn out..

I like it, sharp looking pistol (I agree with Hawk, wish they wouldn't have used that beavertail).

Nice find!
Who knows, maybe they'll find some old SAA parts lyimg around and make some more Colt SAA revolvers! Now if they can just find a few more slides lying about without the FPS and maybe some 9mm parts lying about.

There is one at my local shop as well. I bet more people would be snatching them up if there is truthfully going to be only 100 made this time around. Think they wanted about $900.

Geez, I don't know......I thought we have read for years and years how the reverse plug can shear/crack..........how the thin bushing can crack. I replaced the bushing on my blue Officers with an Ed Brown unit due to a hairline crack.....
Kings, Wilsons, Brown, Clark all have replacement parts/systems for supposedly weak Officers recoil systems.
Maybe the problems are just fictional.
On another note......I really am an Officers fan, I have 3 of them. However, for 900 bucks, I would have expected or hoped for Champion sights and a real beavertail like on the Combat Elite. Just my 2 cents, though. Others might not want those things.
I do like that NRMs were used instead of the old MKIV ones.

Very nice looking pistol. Are those the grips it came with?

Yes, those nice wood grips are factory grips...

Yup, as wot racing said. The pics are of the pistol right out of the box. I'll have some more up soon.

I disassembled it like you said...I think this way is easy anyways...it's how I disassemble my Combat Elite.
