Bluing Methods

Can someone tell me what kind of bluing method was used on the small parts and barrels on a 1917 WWI Colt 1911 ?

Colt's oven-blued (or heat-blued) their pistols and parts in 1917. The entire process is described in Charles Clawson's 1991 book. They were not rust-blued or chemical-blued.
