Just picked up a RIA Tactical last weekend. Love the gun with the exception of the sights. My eyes are getting older and the Tactical's front sight doesn't stand out so well at an indoor range. I e-mail Ivan about if RIA did gunsmithing as in could they change the sights. Unfortunately at present they don't. Not having a local gunsmith in Willimsburg, VA, anyone have a smith they can recommend to me to ship my RIA off to to swap in some new sights? Thanks.

Novak can do it if you send them the slide. Easier then the whole gun. But I just got a bottle of white auto touch up paint, and paint the front sight white. Works well and is cheaper then a new sight. If you don't like it you're only out $3.

+1 on dogmush's suggestion on touch up paint....I even used Correction Fluid on mine and it worked. :D

drill 3 dots in them and use some paint, Cost less than shipping the slide, About 4 bucks

All of above good suggestions. I used a very small sharp edged file to put about 8 "ribs" on front sight. Touched it up w/cold blue then a dab of flat white epoxy paint and it's help up real well.

Hampton CIT, welcome to the forum and congrats on the new RIA Tactical!!! :) :wc: Sorry that it took me so long to get back to you but my computer went down. As far as a gunsmith I use to use the gunsmith at A&P Arms at Lynnhaven in Va. Beach but he has since left the area. I would have to agree with checking with Novak for the work.

I used a high viz Orange for my front sight on my Compact... works great! Just a little dab of paint and the front sight stands out real nice!
