Hello I have a question to anyone with this set up:
Wolff's 4inch extra power spring and EGW's oversized firing pin stop.
I wonder if the slide would still recoil "compress" back with enough authority. I would also like to know which non-Kimber extractor is best, Wilson, ED Brown or some other brand? About once every hundred rounds I get one round which does not go fully into battery, I just tap the slide and it goes in, because the extractor get stuck above the case rim a bit. I currently use a Raptor Pro 2 with internal extractor, Wolff 4inch model Spring and CM hybrid and CM USGI mags. I would like to make my gun 100% even though its 99% right now.

One more thing I get brass marks on my slide in front of the ejection port during shooting. I should adjust my ejector a bit hu?

Sounds like the extractor tension needs to be lightened up just a bit. Regardless of brand; extractor's often need to have their tension set when new. I also would not recommend exceeding the recoil spring specs if you're shooting standard pressure ammunition, as you'll be putting higher stresses on your pistol beyond it's design, and it's not necessary for proper functioning.

I have replaced the factory extractor in my Kimber with an AVTEC extractor. It is loaded with coil springs, which I change out once a year, regardless of round count. It has definitely solved any and all extractor problems I had with this pistol, and it does not require constant 'tinkering' to keep set right. The regular factory type reminds me of the days when we spent half the day setting the points and adjusting the timing so our cars would run right on Saturday Night. How many of you guys remember that? Any way the thing is available at Brownells along with replacement springs. It is pricey but fixes the problem.>>>>>>>>>>>>>ps it does require minor fitting at the FP stop. :appld:

I got and installed my new Wilson Bullet Proof Extractor and EGW FPS today. I also have the Wolff improved recoil spring in my Kimber RAPTOR PRO II. I ran 10 cycles with one round in the magazine to test lock back. "CM 7 rounders:one Colt Hybrid and one USGI" and the slide always locked back. This relieved my concern of the slide not having enough momentum with the new FPS and stronger recoil spring. In total I shot 27 flawless rounds today. One thing though 2 rounds came pretty close to my face and there is brass markings on my slide about 1/4 inch in front of the port. I adjusted the extrector per instructions and over all Im pretty pleased. The EGW stop did remove a bit of recoil "maybe 15-20%". Next week I am going to shoot about 110 rounds to test 110% reliability
