i have two 1911 pistols 1 ria and 1 colt series 80.the colt seems to have much more slop in the fit than the ria how much is normal?can it be fixed

thanks for the quick response,they shoot about the same,and it has never malfuntioned,except with my earliest reloads so i quess its ok thanks for the info printed it for further study

Don't fret too much over slide/frame tightness - it's slide/bushing/barrel tightness that matters most for accuracy. My shooting buddy's got a Colt that rattles like a can of marbles but it's a real tack-driver!

My Colt has .005 horizontal and has about 45,000 rounds.

Not sure what it was when new, but it rattled.

Took most of the rattle out with a FLGR. :D
