I have a blue RIA widebody which I really enjoy. I was thinking of refinishing it to something perhaps a bit more corrosion resistant, such as parkerizing followed by Duracoat or similar. But I was also wondering: what does the current mil-spec contract call for on their guns? If it's good enough for them, it should be good enough for me. Does anybody happen to know?

No idea on current military finish. Kimber makes a Desert Warrior in (KimPro - paint) desert colors.
Park is a good base for DuraCoat, which now also has a "Self Lubricating" variant (check out their site). I'm not lab ratting, so hoping lots of people start using that coating soon. Having all those colors available is awesome. I've seen good and I've seen bad duracoat jobs. Better to use multiple thin coats than glob it on which can lead to tolerance issues. Make sure your spray equipment is working well. Reducer is very useful but as per their tech support, "not needed"... get some.
Also do a google on IONbond & guns, good but costs more.

I could be wrong, but some years ago I read a magazine article featuring a MEUSOC unit, stating that they were simply parked, so start with that for now, and plenty of spray on/bake on finishes can be applied on it when you want something else.
