Just got my Berryhill Ultimate Ignition Set in the mail and installed today.

What a difference!! If anyone is looking for a matched hammer/sear/disconnector set, Dave Berryhill is the man to buy from! I haven't had a chance to tell him personally, but Dave, if you read this... "Thank You!"

OK, got the praise out of the way, now the question:
The hammer is unfinished (in the white?) I plan on having the gun melonited, but in the mean time, should I cold blue it with something like Van's Gun Blue, or just give it a good coat of Militec or RemOil, etc. for protection and leave it unfinished? Ultimately, I'd like the trigger black to match the gun.

I just read a thread on another forum about this. This guy's whole gun was in the white while he was tweaking the fit, etc. He was waiting to get everything right before sending it off for IonBond.
Overwhelming concensus was keep it wiped down with oil and carry on.

Disclaimer:
"Consensus is often mistaken for the right answer." unkn

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you like the parts.

Cold blue isn't going to add much rust protection so if you want the color, then go ahead and use it. Either way you should wipe a little oil on it periodically.
