i finally rebuilt my carry gun after the sear started not engauging the hammer like it should. the gun had alot of rounds thoruh it so it was ready. my question is when performing the thumb safety test as i pull the trigger it has a firm stop but right before you "hit the wall" if your ear is real close you can hear a very slight "click" at the end of the trigger travel ive swaped out the sears dissconnectors and hamers twice. is the clicking something i should worrie about? would that be considered perceptible movement of internal parts?

THUMB SAFETY CHECK: Holding gun normally with firing hand, slide forward, hammer cocked, thumb safety ON. Attempt to pull trigger. The hammer should not fall, nor should you feel any perceptible movement of internal parts. If you squeezed the trigger and it didn't come to a quick, hard stop (i.e. the trigger felt mushy) then there may have been some sear movement.

The noise is more than likely being made by the disconnector as the back of the trigger bow pushes its bottom aft a little bit. If all contact surfaces between the disconnector, trigger bow, sear spring and frame aren't smooth, friction can delay the disconnectors's upward movement - and when it finally moves a teeny way back up against its notch in the slide it'll click against it.

AFAIK, it's nothing to worry about - unless you find the click annoying.

Try an advanced search for "disconnector click" and see what turns up.

One way to tell how friction-free your disconnector might be is to remove the slide, cock the hammer, engage the thumb safety and push down on the exposed tip of the disconnector. Slowly remove the downward pressure and if follows your finger back up at any trigger position it's slick as can be.

If it doesn't, well.....it isn't. :D
