I just inherited this Rem Rand 1911A1 from my grandfather.
He was a SOE (Special Operations Executive) agent during ww2 in the Norwegian Komp. Linge. He used this gun on at least one operation in occupied Norway.

Its a real treat, and I love to shoot it. Some think its wrong to use this gun, but I feel it deserves to be used. I will try to get some better pictures of it later.

Welcome to the forum tow2vet!!! :wc: :) That is a very nice 1911 you have. I am also one who would not shoot it. It is true they were made to be shot but the collector and sentimental value keep me from shooting mine. To me if you shoot it and break parts then it is not original any longer. That is just my take on collectible weapons!! :)
