difference between a 1911 series 80 and a series 90?

What is the difference between a 1911 series 80 and a series 90?
I understand Colt had a double action series 90 at one time. But this is not the case with this question.
My new Colt Defender is a series 90.
I know there is the difference between the recoil spring and barrel length, but is there anything else?

The only Series 90 Colts are the Defender and the New Agent. the Series 90s also have use a bushingless slide. They do have the same firing pin safety as the Series 80s.

That was the Colt Double Eagle that was a series 90.

"Series 90" essentially refers to any Colt's model introduced in the 1990s. I think if you dig deep enough, you'll find that the Government 380, Mustang, Pocket 9, and Pony .380 (none of which were 1911s) were all designated as "Series 90" pistols in addition to the Defender.
