during a fairly intense session at the range yesterday my venerable Kimber Pro Carry (not II) dumped the above bits all over the ground :( , I found the catch and have a new spring and stop ordered as I type.
When these arrive is there a trick during installation to assure that this may not happen again  ?

Thanks in anticipation,
Nikky

No trick that I am aware of. I've heard of this problem and suggest you get with Kimber.

The mag. release housing is either cast or MIM. Tuner & I have been waiting for one to explode.

They are not hard to put back together. What nactually broke? The housing?
If so, you can get just the housing thru Brownell's. I'd suggest a quality type, Brown has a barstock steel its got an extended button, just a bit more than the stock piece. Brownell's # 087-011-100 Blue, 087-011-101 SS

Tuner, here's the first I've heard of this.........but we both knew it was coming.

Yip...This is my third . Two witnessed and one on hearsay. Wonder when they'll get the message...

FWIW, Ed Brown also makes a steel catch with a standard-length button...
It's just not in Brownells...Go to his website. Price is the same. Save
a few headaches and order a Colt lock from Brownells. They're real steel.

Luck!

Actually I've not kept up on the count thing. I just type my little fingers to the bone. Did I answer on 2 threads?

If I did.............I've got to slow my life down a bit.
I didn't realize it........
Make me a mod and I'll start deleting my own.................or is that eating my own?
See what you started John.........now I'm rambling..........more coffee Tuner!

LORL, no you didn't answer on two threads, you just posted twice the same answer in this thread!!!

Never mind, it happens to me too sometimes, when I get too impatient with the site. I hit the post button, then the site doesn't reply for a couple of seconds and I hit it again. Then I get two posts! Thank God, I can erase the duplicates immediately. So can you now, with the Qedit/Qdelete buttons.
