My Dad has an interesting US Army issue 1911 (not A1), sorry don't have pictures.

He bought it through the DCM close to 50 years ago. It appears to be a rebuild, it is a 1911 frame, the serial # makes it a Colt frame manufactured in 1917. The slide is marked Remington Rand (WWII vintage).

The frame has a 'RIA' stamped on it, and has a parkerized finish.

I think it it is a rebuild because it has a WWI frame and WWII slide, and is parkerized instead of blue. The finish is excellent, no rust, and the slide/frame fit is very tight. It is a good shooter - very accurate.

He isn't interested in selling it, but I'm curious as to what the value might be.

I don't have the pistol, so I can't take any pictures.

I don't really expect an appraisal of my Dad's specific gun, I was more curious as to the general value of a 1911 that was a mix of 1911 and 1911A1 parts, since I haven't heard of people getting 1911 frames.

The gun was not altered in anyway, it is as originally delivered by the DCM.

The general description suggests that it may be an arsenal rebuild. In the absence of any other information --- possibly $700 to $800?
