Here is a picture of the new 1911 I purchased recently. I have 200 rounds thru it with no problems. I will say that it did have the "burr" on the frame mentioned in this forum. I remover it with a small file. Thanks for the heads up. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/jslobum/DSCF0001.jpg

That is a very nice looking piece of machinery. Continued good luck with it.

That is a fine looking 1911, classic! I'm so glad that S&W moved away from the billboard style slide markings; greatly improved the looks of their 1911's.

That is nice! :D
I was not sure about the solid trigger, but the more I look at it, the more it is growing on me. What kind of accuracy are you getting? She looks a little like the Kimber Super Match II.

The trigger does look different, but has a great feel and about a four lb pull. I've had about 3" groups at 25 yds, but have not had much range time. I was able to hit the 100 yd gong 4 out of 8 times, plus I just recieved a case of Black Hills ammo and hope to get to the range tomorrow.

I agree about the removal of the billboard logo from the slide, that was very off-putting, this is much better, very classy. May I ask how much you had to spend? Wondering if this might not be a viable/better alternative to a Kimber.

It set me back $875. at a local gun shop. I found it a little less expensive on Gunbroker, but with shipping and transfer fees it was about the same. I plan to go to the range today with some new ammo and I'll let you know the results. Here is another picture.http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/jslobum/DSCF0002.jpg

Beautiful.
Now If only they would ditch the "caution, capable of firing with magazine removed" nonsense on the dust cover.

How true! To answer the other question, the frame is SS and the slide is carbon steel.
Put another 200 rounds thru it today and no FTE or FTF. This makes around 500 rounds all FMJ 230 gr. It meets all my expectations to date. One of my 5 round 25 yd targets.

watch out about showing pics of your guns with the serial numbers showing other than that. It is a very nice gun (Doug Koenig model) smith and wesson puts out a very nice shooting 1911's.I have 2 myself 4.25" scandium & 5" stainless and I have shot a whole lot of others s&w 1911'they are all good shooters although I live in Massachusetts so my choices of manufactures are limited.

I've got one of the orignals, serial no. JRD32XX, but I figure it'll be a collectable someday.
