I have just recently purchased a Colt Government Model IV/series 70. Unfortunately, I did not receive an owner's manual with the purchase. Is the series 70 basically the same as all other Colt 1911's? This is my first 1911 and it seems to be different than any other semi-automatic pistol I've dissassembled. Therefore, does any one know how I can obtain an owner's manual, either by downloading from the internet or by purchasing one. Thanks.

Normally you can get one from the manufacturer's website. As a side note, www.danwessonfirearms.com (http://www.danwessonfirearms.com) has a downloadable owner's manual that should be compatible with your Colt. (and don't forget to look at www.m1911.org (http://www.m1911.org) in the tech area).

Good shooting
