I have a chance to buy one that maybe has 100 rounds through it for $450. Is this a fair price and how do they shoot?

I can tell you I spent $697.24 for mine brand new with night sights, that made it about 20-40 dollars more. As soon as I can get to the range with it I'll let you know how mine shoots, but I've shot them before and they aren't as bad as people make them out to be. There are also several things you can do to make them more accurate.

I have had a 92FS for over ten years now. It has around two thousand rounds through it. Most have been my reloads. The slide is very smooth for a factory gun. It also has a good trigger. Function has been very reliable. Accuracy is good.

The 92FS is a little large for concealed carry. I carry it on my hip in the winter when I can cover it with my jacket. Other times I carry a PT-911 in a Pager Pal.

I don't care for the safety on the slide, but that is just me. All in all, it is a very nice pistol and I am sure you will like it.

Congratulations on the new Beretta. Hope it works as well for you as mine does for me! Mine is quite accurate (for a factory gun) and very reliable. If you intend to use it for defensive purposes, though, please be aware that you'll have to be a little picky about the ammo you feed it as a lot of the 9mm ammo out there is a bit anemic. Anything is fine for target or plinking, but do look into a good 115 to 124 gr. +P or +p+ j.h.p. round for defense and you should be good to go. I'll be interested to hear the results of your trip to the range. Good luck!!

I took the Beretta 92 FS to the range Friday and put a couple of boxes of Winchester 115 gr. ball through it. No hiccups, groups were well centered and pretty tight for a service pistol. Thanks for the advice tsa45. I was thinking of going with the Federal 135 gr. hydrashocks of their new (for civilians at least) tatical ammo. I probably spend a C note on defensive ammo to determine reliability with hollow points.

Went to a gun show today and bought an M12 holster for it. I already have an Askins Avenger for it so the M12 was just for fun.

All in all I'm very please with my purchase.
