When was my Colt made?

Good evening, friends!

I was hoping that one of you might have a collector's reference handy, and would be willing to share. I have a Colt "ORM" 1991A1. It's a standard 5" model. The serial number is 2753668, and I'm curious as to when it was first made. I'm not sure what the date range is for "old roll mark" 1991A1s, and I'd be interested to know that, too. I have reference books for Smiths, and for some military rifles, but not for Colts.

If no one has your date of manufacturing, call Colt at 1-800-962-2658 come Monday... with your serial number in hand. They'll kindly tell you when this one was "born".

Well, that was easy, thank you for the advice. Just now I called, and found out that it was made in 95.

I just bought a used 5 in. parkerized 1991A1 as well. My serial number is 269XXXX. I used the same link and found out mine was built in 1991.

not being in the usa , its a bit hard to contact colt to get a '' birth date '' of my .38 super series 80 mark iv . if i supply the serial number can some one find out the the date ? i looked on the web but the colt sight wasnt very helpfull :dead_hors . the serial number is FG96917 ......thanks in advance

It is my understanding that Colt is closed until Monday, if you will PM me a gentle reminder on Monday I will call them and get a birthday for you...

I'm pretty sure the change from the ORM to the NRM was May 2002. This was referanced on Colts Site back than.
