Looking at a Colt 1960's National Match. Would you say that it is more desirable than a Series 70 or is there much difference. Has original non-numbered box, mag, paperwork and is in excellent original condition.
Thanks,
Mike

Just got some answers by looking around here at a couple of other threads.

The early ones were better put together than the series 70/80 guns.
Good luck on it.

The 1957 to 1969 Gold Cup National Match guns (with a NM suffix in the serial number) are generally about $200 more than a comperable condition Series 70 Gold Cup.
I find them better built that a series 70.
The only caveat is use a standard 16 pound recoil spring. Colt shipped them with both a 12 lb. and a 16 lb. spring. Using standard ammo with a 12 lb. spring will batter the slide.
