View Full Version : Any Listing of Model Numbers?

I notice that the factory original boxes have a model number on them which, I assume, goes along with such peculiarities of the handgun such as barrel length, finish, etc. Is there a listing somewhere of these numbers and the model that they reference?

I have this question as well - I notice that no one has replied after 4 days........

The model numbers are listed on Colt's web site. For example, the O1991 is the blued steel version of the 5" 1991 series pistol.

The O1970CM is the hard chromed version of the Special Combat Government

The O1970A1CS is the blued steel version of the Series 70 reissue.

I think vettepartz is looking for a list of all model numbers.
The Colt web site only has part numbers for their current offering shown on the web site.
For example, I own a Gov't MK IV Series 80 in blue manufactured in 1983.
The model # is 08111 FS.
I would like to know if these digits have any meaning.

Thank you gentlemen. I was wondering if there is a listing of all the model numbers, past and present. I would think that Colt has something like this in a data base. For instance, I have a Mark IV Series 80 Officer's Model with the matte blue finish. How could I find the model number that Colt used for this particular gun? Or for other guns that Colt has produced?

I think this might be what you are looking for. Looks like the Model Number is 09080. This is one I bought from forum member Clughog. Thanks again Creighton :)

Thanks for that picture, Landman. That looks exactly like what I have. I still wonder if there is a master list somewhere of model numbers. By the way, your box label lists the finish as blue, and not matte. I wonder why they did that.

The box does say "Blue" but the finish is definitely "Matte Blue". It feels like a parkerized finished...not a traditional polished blue. Sorry, I can't help you with a master list. I'd like to see one too if you ever find one. Take care.

Thank you for the pictures and the help. I will let you know if I can locate any listings of model numbers.
BTW, that is one fine looking handgun you have there, and it looks like you plan on keeping it as "NIB" condition.

I have a spreadsheet started that I think has what your looking for? How can I post that here?

Cleveland I imagine you could cut and paste the spreadsheet to the forum. That would be helpful.
By the way the article is finished on your 01918 and I will send you the final draft in the next few days.
For the model numbers you can always call Colt at 1 800 962 Colt.

Thanks for the compliment. It is still "NIB" for now but only because I have another stainless Officer I enjoy shooting. I'm sure I'll probably shoot this one eventually though...just can't help myself :)

Thanks for the heads up. I tried to copy and past it but it loses the pretty formatting and just looks like a lot of confusing text. I'll try a html doc and see if that looks better.

Here is a partial list. Let me know if this is useful and I will continue with the research.

Thanks
