I just installed a new Ed brown trigger a month ago and last night I noticed that when letting off the trigger the last 1/16" of an inch it feels like its getting caught on something. I took it all apart last night and polished everything.Still does it, the funny thing is that it only does it when the slide in on and in full battery. If you pull the slide back even 1/8" of an inch its gone. I think its the disconconnet going through the timing slot. Is this normal?

Yes, well sort of. What I believe you're hearing is in fact the disconnector resetting. What's specifically happening is when you let off the trigger the disconnector which was being held back by the trigger and is in the disconnected position, below the sear legs, and is now free to pop-up as the trigger is released and the slide recess is in place.

If you remove the GS and reassemble without it, you can watch this as it happens, and is an education in itself.

That's what I thought Just wanted to make sure, I just can't remember if it did it with the old trigger. I guess I'll just try it when I put the new sear and hammer in. Thanks logman

Is this cured by scraping the slide's disconnector slot?

The disconnector resetting is correct operation. Deepening the slide disco slot is indicated when the disco won't quite reset and or slips off the sear feet intermittently, resulting in a pulled trigger and no hammer drop. Or when the disco drags in the slot and clicks when the trigger is pulled, a slight click when releasing the trigger is normal reset.
