I am just wondering if tritium sights are shock proof and to what extent?

They seem to hold up pretty well against recoil. However it's not that tough to break a vial if you are trying to install/move the sight in its dovetail by using a hammer rather than a press gizmo.

If they were not, they would take recoil very well.

I believe that the glass vial containing the tritium is set into a material that has some "give" to it (seen as the while outline visible under normal lighting) that provides some shock protection. All of my pistols with nite sights appear to be made that way.

They are very shock resistant, tested thousands of cycles in R&D before design is proven.
Additionalls, NRC approves and licenses the inserts. Tritium is a gas so no movement takes place inside the ampules.
Guarantee covers 1/2 life of the sights, typically 12 to 15 years.
Hope that helps !
