I just picked up a 9mm Combat Commander, the front sight is very loose. What tenon size did these use ? heres a pic for reference :)

That sight (even though the picture angle doesn't help much) is not original. Depending on the year of manufacture, the pistol may have a narrow tenon or a wide one. Call Colt to find out and then Brownells to order the appropriate sight.

The original will have a narrow tenon.......unknown what that site on there has.

Shouldn't make a diff., restake properly and you should be good to.
If it gets to be a problem, you may have to take it off, add red loc-tite, then try to restake.......if there's enough tenon left.

Not an original hammer either and the Extractor is sticking out a bit. Not that I'm picking on you. It's still a very hard to come by piece. Interesting to see a version that is different from mine though.

Sights, Hammer, Slide Stop, Extractor and grips are all replacements. The plan is to take it back to factory original with the exception of the sights. I was planning on using a Heirloom Precision Retro rear on it but they don't ship to Canada so I am looking for another alternative. The front it turns out is a wide tenon.

Now I am trying to figure out if the finish is original or not

Order the sight from Heirloom Precision, have it sent to me and I'll ship it to you.

When you remove the front sight, look inside the slide at the bottom of the tenon slot and see if it is chamfered around the edges. If it isn't, use one of the dreaded Dremel tools with a small ball mill to lightly chamfer the edges of the tenon slot inside the slide, giving the displaced metal something to flow out into when you stake the new sight. Some red loctite will also be good just as wichaka mentioned.
