Hello,

I use to have an older beat up Combat Elite and sold it because it was the gun I could live without at the time I was raising money. I now have a strong desire to buy another older Combat Elite to go with my new issue one. I am definitely on a Colt kick right now and recently bought the new issue Combat Elite, a new in box 1991A1 ORM, a repro Series 70 and a Defender.

What are good prices for the older Combat Elites?? What would be reasonable?? I have seen several different prices ranging from $750 to over $1500. I am not a fan of the adjustable sights so I would be happy with fixed. Thanks for your time.

1000 dollars is hard to buy a SLICK unchanged combat elite with box by real-market prices. they are about 150 cheaper for the fixed site version unless it has the straight serrations.[those darned colt purists again!] the price seems to equal out back to 1000 dollars with the straight serrations and fixed sights. i prefer the accro adjustable target sights found on the enhanced version myself and recently[last 30 days] picked up a 98% gun with almost no rounds through it and a great trigger pull, for 775dollars and thought i stole it! i have recently been haggling with a man for another enhanced ce nib unfired and have him down to 1050 dollars. ill give id give 1100 but i am a better haggle than him:} . i am building a ce collection and buy as many as i can afford so i think my info is pretty close to the norm. hope this helps you in your purchase.

post edit. the ones with front serations general knock of 150 to 200 dollars us.of the older models as you describe straight serrations are harder to find and probably increases actual buyer price by 100 dollars[that dosent mean its worth more, just harder to talk the man down] these prices are just based on what i have found lately for sale on the average. good luck

I'm not sure what your prices in the Northwest are, but around North Texas, I see them at nearly every gun show priced in the range of $750 - $1000, depending on condition. I see more of the enhanced version with adjustable sights than the fixed-sight version. I prefer the older ones, simply because I don't care for the serrations on the front of the slide on the newer model.
