Finally finished my Colt Commander (pic)

I got a series 70 Colt Combat Commander from a buddy of mine a while back, for basically a song. It was bone stock when i bought it from him, and i went about turning it into my main carry pistol. I put the TR grips on it and the extended safety and beavertail GS on her. I like her pretty well, I think i will leave the sights as is. The only thing she needs is a blue job and i'm debating that. Let me know what you guys think.

She is a nice older Colt, a carry pistol is always going to look a bit used. If you want to get her refinished, it's up to you, to me she still looks good enough to keep the way she is.

Don't sweat the finish. Hopefully it will get worse with use...or to some, BETTER!!! Like those grips. Where's the TRS? :)

Got one just like it. Shoots and carries great. Sent mine off to Colt for a reblue. Probably won't make it shoot any better though.

Oh I think you know...but at the risk of my bank account wanting to kill me, my only viable option at this moment seems to be walking out to the garage and pounding my head with a ball-peen hammer... :D

nice Commanders on this forum are replicating like rabbits...and it's really, REALLY unfair...

Thanks guys, I will leave her as is. This is one shooting Commander its not a tack driver by any means, but i can keep all 8 rounds on a paper plate at 10-15 yards more times than not. Plus she's a very hungry girl, she eats everything i put in front of her.

What stands out is the grip screws. IMHO, they would look better in blue!

Good luck finding them in blue i have tried. They come from my many Thunder ranch Specials. It's a special size screw.
