hi everyone. new to the forum and, um ,well, 1911's in general. i just had a long time dream come true and bought a para ordnance p14-45. its a late 93 model and has been well used and possibly slightly abused based on the amount of crud everywhere. i want to know this thing inside and out so i want to smith it myself and this site has already answered sooo many questions but i digress so here is mine.
the slide is painted black but shows some wear at the front and there are some chips in it near the ejector. i like the two tone look and was thinking of just stripping and then brushing and clearing the slide. i think if i did it right the engravings on the side and the slide grips would really stand out. any thoughts from the forum? dont hold back either, i want to know what you guys think.

Paint stripper won't take it off. You'll have to sandblast it to get down to bare metal.
