I thought this was a commercial, but there's no 'C' before the serial number.??...

Too bad about the light scratches on the side of the slide.....

Thanks Hunter. I had much difficulty getting the pics uploaded. Some were too large and some too small, sorry about the bad lighting.

Whats you opinion on the scratches on the slide?

I must call the ambulance.

I'm sure I just suffered a small stroke.

Gosh, what a nice piece.....

Those didn't have a "C"........

.
I would not worry too much about those scratches.
I would keep the pistol wiped down good to prevent any rust from trying to settle in but I don't know if those scratches are all the way through the finish.
Either way I would take real good care of that Colt, she is a keeper.

Super .38s had their own serial number range, from 1 (no zeros) to 202388. If that serial number is in the 17,000 range, the pistol dates from 1935. Beauty!

Walt

Thanks for all the kind words guys.

Hunter, What oil do you recommend for the wipe down? The scratches a very light. Not deep at all.

Thats a beauty! I know everyone loves original, but that super would sure look sweet after a trip to Colt for a high polish blue.

No, no! A thousand times, no! That gun is absolutely beautiful, and doing anything other than preserving it would be a crime against humanity. Keep it wiped down, and enjoy.
