1911A1 Technical Drawings

Does anyone know where to obtain technical drawings for the 1911? Since its patent is up, should these drawings be available? Any chance anyone has 3D Solidworks models? 2D drawings would suffice too. Many thanks to anyone that can help me. :)

Thank you both :) The CNC info is exactly what I'm looking for. Now, does anyone know of CAM programs that are readily available? Is anyone manufacturing the frames with wire EDM?

Also, does anyone have sales demographics for the upper scale 1911's? Estimates are also welcome.

The blueprints available on the CNC website are the same as those available in our Tech Issues section - we just have a link to the CNC website. However, some of those blueprints (and some areas on some of those blueprints) are a little fuzzy and difficult to read.

The best set of blueprints I've found are available from Nicolaus Associastes: http://www.nicolausassociates.com/ . These are also U.S. Army blueprints which have been de-fuzzified (?) and their readability is excellent.

Neither the CNC nor the Nicolaus blueprints include the National Match barrel, but the CNC ones do contain the National Match slide. The set from Nicolaus even includes a blueprint for the [ready for this?] cleaning patch!!

No idea on the other stuff you were asking about.
