I have purchased a SARCO 1911 parts kit from them. I want to know if this gun is legal as assembled. It is assembled on a an american-made (SMI, Mass.) registered receiver. The barrel is NEW, US production, but the rest of the parts were brazilian. Is this like an MAK90/AK-variant, where I need to have a certain PARTS-COUNT comprised of US-made parts to "assemble" or "manufacture" this into a working weapon? I know w/ the MAK90 it's a foreign-made design and was a make/model that was banned during the 1989 import ban from communist-block countries.

US-production receiver (SMI), barrel (Sarco "roto45"), extractor (wilson combat), sear spring (wilson combat), hammer (W.C), grip and thumb safety(W.C).

I just want to make sure that this is not an illegal assembly of a pistol.

BTW: i'm 21+ w/o any felony convictions, menal instability, or restraining orders (AKA "able to own/buy a firearm")

Any quick response to this forum or to my email w_doyle@bellsouth.net
would be greatly appreciated

Don't worry, your legal. The single stack 1911's were never banned as part of the AWB or Brady (well, no 1911's were banned based on the pistol, except no more Norinco's and prior to the "Sunset" Hi-Cap 1911's were limited to 10 rnd mags or Pre-ban hi-caps). And as far as import, your good as well. If there was a problem importing parts from Brazil, there'd be a lot less Springfields and Taurus' in this country.

Thank you very much. It's good to know that I dont' have to disassemble my parts *grin*. I have had it for a while and never *saw* anything about it.... but just because it ain't mentioned, doesn't mean it doesn't apply....

thanx again.
