I'm interested in some custom grips to dress up my gun. I have a Kimber TLE/RL II, and it is black on black. The grips are a subberized grip, giving a good solid handhold in wet/sweaty situations. I can see thier purpose, and they are not a bad option. I carry this gun frequently and want to keep it as a fighting gun as opposed to a range queen.

Does anyone have input on grips as it relates to carry? I don't want to create a hazard on my weapon just to make it look nice.

Esmerelda has some nice grips. I must say that I am interested in this set:

Or some similair to these I found from Rare-N-Unique at gunbroker.com a while back:

Aside from the practical, ergonomic aspects of smooth, decorative grips (which I think is the thrust of your question), personally I would stay light years away from anything like the Punisher grips in your second photo. If people are concerned that a zealous prosecutor might use hand-loaded ammo or a light trigger to portray them as a trigger-happy gun nut, how much fun do you think he might have painting someone with Punisher grips on his carry gun as someone with an obvious vigilante complex? With no work at all he could make a jury believe you were acting out Charles Bronson's "Death Wish" screen persona and just looking for an excuse to blast somebody.

I do like those Celtic cross grips, though.
