Trouble installing a safety.

I just received a Wilson Combat extended slide stop, and a tactical thumb safety. The slide stop installed no problem. At this point I have to admit my inexperience.... At any rate, I could only get the safety to fit into the frame on half-cock. When it was fully cocked, there was about an eighth of an inch gap.
Now i can only get the safety to engage on half cock, which does me no good.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Basically, take out the grip safety and re-assemble the pistol, the opening left at the rear will allow you to see inside the pistol and see what's happening. The thread will guide you from there.
