Well, I was browsing the other day and came across a company called
Foster Industries up in Vermont. Guess who they "supply" frames and
slides to? Yep Caspian. And I'm sure many others. Interesting reading on the site, you have to go there and read it for yourself. If you are thinking
about a build, I would seriously consider obtaining a matched frame and
slide from them. VERY reasonable prices. They may furnish SIG's
F&S, but don't mention it. But if "Caspian" suppllies SIG, it's got to be
Foster stuff. Anyway, just thought I'd share this with Y'all.

Foster does not sell to Caspian. Foster IS Caspian. Caspian Arms was founded by Cal Foster, and Foster Industries owns Caspian Arms. Caspian's address is Cal Foster Drive. Caspian manufactures the frames and slides, and any that don't measure up to their stringent quality control inspections but are nonetheless useable are sold under the Foster Industries name. That's why they are less expensive than Caspian -- they have minor appearance defects.
I have built a pistol on a Foster frame, and it works great. I have no idea what the defect was that led them to not mark it and sell it as a Caspian, but it saved me a few $$$ so I am not complaining. In fact, they are saving me another Foster frame right now, to be delivered when they run the 9mm/.38 Super slide that's going to go with it. They are a bargain, if they have what you want when you want it.
But ... let's not spread inaccurate information about who they are.

I wasn't spreading inaccurate information. I was implying a relationship more than supplying. That was my intent With the quotes around the word, and my suggestion
that they read what's on the website and draw their own conclusions. If memory serves me adequately, outright ownership of Caspian is never claimed on Foster's
website. If you want to augment my statemnt by providing more information
fine, but don't lecture me about propriety. You are not an officer of this BB.

The part of your post I highlighted with bold type does not "imply" a relationship -- it makes a specific statement as to the existence and the nature of the relationship. Unfortunately, the statement is factually incorrect. Since this site encourages the promulgation of accurate information, I see nothing wrong with Greywolf's post setting the record straight.
I suspect that your statement was based on conjecture, extrapolating from information you found on Foster's web site. Your post also suggests (rather strongly) that Foster supplies slides and frames to SIG Sauer. While it is correct that Caspian did supply frames and slides to SIG for the first generation of their GSR 1911 pistols, I do not believe that is the situation today. Thus, that part of your post may also be inaccurate.

And if you go to the Caspian website and select their "Specials" button, near the bottom of the page you will find:
Caspian Arms Ltd.’s subsidiary, Foster Industries Inc. has recently started a website for the cosmetic seconds.
